The Santa Cruz Island primarily has arid scrub land with many ridges and valleys.
Endemic to the Santa Cruz Island off the coast of Southern California
Prefers acorns which they will cache for consumption in the fall. Also they will eat insects, spiders, snakes, lizards, mice and other birds; eggs and nestlings.
