Breeds in western Canada and Alaska. Winters along western coastal U.S. and down into Mexico and Central America
Forage in the higher branches, sometimes hovering or catching insects in flight. They also eat spiders and seeds. Outside of the nesting season, these birds forage in mixed flocks and include berries and plant nectar.
