Distribution and Range

Eastern Asia with some populations of escaped birds in the US and UK.

Food

They are a dabbling duck that feed on land. In spring they eat plants and seeds and in fall they mostly eat insects, fish, mollusks and worms.

Was once widespread in East Asia, but large-scale exports and destruction of its forest habitat have reduced populations. Ferral populations have developed and areas outside of Asia.
