Prefers areas with dry and open woods near brush and fields with tall annual weeds that are near a small body of water. It may nest in other habitats, including rural residential areas, but not in deserts or dense forests.
Distribution and Range
Breeds in California and northern Baja. Winters in southern Arizona and New Mexico.
