Field Notes:

This small kingfisher breeds by streams in forests or mangroves. The nest is a horizontal tunnel that is dug by both sexes in a river bank. where between three and six eggs which are incubated by the female at night and by both birds during the day. The chicks fledge about 27 days after hatching
